Touch Without Pressure: The Best Way to Restart Desire

Dr. Mohsin Asif Apr 30, 2026

Desire often returns when touch feels safe again. Use these no-pressure exercises to bring back comfort and chemistry.

Don’t “test” whether the other person is ready. If someone feels evaluated, they often withdraw. Keep it collaborative: “What feels good and safe today?”

Exercise 3: Massage swap

Common mistake to avoid

Take turns giving a 5-minute shoulder or hand massage. Keep it simple and slow—comfort first.

Exercise 1: 6-second hug

Exercise 2: Hand-holding while talking

Talk about your day while holding hands for 3–5 minutes. This builds “comfortable closeness” again.

Once per day, hug for 6 seconds. Breathe. No talking. No next steps.

If intimacy has been tense, start with touch that is clearly non-sexual. The body needs evidence that closeness is safe.
